Went to 1 of our cold water spots of the past and it payed off , we got a nice mess for a fish fry and gave some to our trapper buddy. Charlie brewer slider in chart. with red tail was hot bait vertical jigged also bit fin-s in smelt and limetruese 2 1/2" on 1/16th plain lead heads.wt 36 kept a good livewell full then let many go , g-duck usually works the clicker counter but he's under the weather so no official count.Name: wally pics 014.jpg

Wow, I have a long ways to go after seeing this! Thought my 20 tiny crappie were good but this is a great catch and on a normal non pea sized rubber. I gotta figure this out, great catch!

I must be using too small a lure but I swear they are biting so light I can't imagine them getting anything bigger in their mouths. Maybe that's why most of my fish are on the smaller side. Thanks for the info on the baits and color, next time out I will try them.

I got a thump once in a while but most bites were detected by slightly lifting the jig and feeling wieght and line watching . I use 4lb hi vis yellow line

Just bought some of the Charlie Brewers and fin-s but couldnt find the smelt, just got chartreuse. We will see how I do next trip. I was getting a few taps but like you most were on the lift when I felt the weight. Was happy to get a couple casting and slow retrieving over the bottom. Thanks for the advise.
