Super Moon Weekend, notice anything different??
Ok I just went through a super moon weekend and yes I did notice some differences! Of course our tides down here on the salt were a bit high and therefore not condusive to flounder fishing, Tear em up tried the other day and said he had a great 9 knot drift, so needless to say not so good for flounder so I ruled that out today.
I did seem to run into weddings everywhere I went this weekend so the super moon must increase romance from what I saw. Saturday a took a break and went down to the local beach for some peace and quiet to do some reading and there was a wedding happening right out on the beach. Funny to watch them take wedding party pictures as all the guys stood on the jetty and pretended to pee in the bay and all the girls went out there and showed off there fancy undies? Is this a wedding tradition I didnt notice in any of the weddings I ever went to?
So sunday I decided to hit a spot we only fished once last fall and caught the most crappie ever in 1 trip, 146 between me and tear em up? Ive been wanting to try again so thats where I went with a friend from work and his 2 boys, hoping to be able to show them plenty of action. It did not fail us, we caught 100 crappie in about 3 1/2 hours, nothing of any size largest maybe 9 inches. Probably could of caught alot more but was pretty busy keeping those 2 boys baited and unhooking fish and all else that happens with that kind of mayham? And then wouldent you know it we went around a corner and theres another couple getting married right in the woods on the lake edge? I would not be surprised if we are in the wedding pictures.
It was fun though and glad to show those boys some action I think they are hooked and judgeing by the picture they looked pretty happy, they kicked there dads butt though, he does not look so happy. And it you ever wondered what a wedding in the woods looks like heres a pic of that too.
In the future I think I will plan on crappie fishing on super moon weekends!
