Default Crappie Action in the Potomac

Was wondering if anyone was getting into any slabbers. I fished down off of Wilson Rd Ramp last week and the action was very slow. Two small crappie. Would actually like to find an area closer to the Wison Bridge that I could hit on the way home from work. I have a small Bass Tender or Kayak that I fish out of.

I'm a little late to the thread, but I was nosing around the upper Nanjemoy last week (put in at Friendship Landing) and caught one small Crappie. I didn't spend much time out though; I was mostly just passing time while the wife did her things at her friend's house. I used a small Watertender. It's the "less fishing oriented" version of your Basstender.

I was down at the Mallows Bay area and launched off Wilson Rd. It was very slow and just picked up 2 small crappie. I am wondering if the salinity is to salty right now done there. With all the rain we had lately I would think things would be alright.

Not yet for me, will start in about three weeks. Start fishing for monster catfish in two weeks more or less. Bait has been ordered and tanks filled and ready.

Gonna be a busy next 6 months..

I'm also 2 to 3 weeks away from hittin' the river. It has been the first winter in many many years I haven't fished on through.

I had a friend of mine watched a guy catch a bunch from the Marina a few weeks ago. Were you getting any size. Also any place near the Marina that you can launch a kayak that you know of.

I have never fished he duck pond but drive by there everyday on the way home from work. Is that water a stand alone body of water or does it hook up with the river.

Good size up to 14" ....not sure of near by launch ...could try Fort Washington Park down by the light house or paddle around from Fort Washinton Marina.

Duck Pond is great for kyak...has hot water pump outs year round hooks up to river on airport side on the right duck pond on left leaving airport
