3/5 late morning until dark succesful fishing report
Had a pretty good fishing trip Saturdy afternoon. Started out at a Bridge near Blackwater, first fish LMB around 14 inches, really fat was returned to fight again, second fish half hour later big bullhead around 14 inches, over a pound will look up which species later, friend from work and his girl friend arrive and don't recognize me at first, all bundled up because of cold and raw wind, third fish LMBass around 10-12 inches and fat, friend takes my picture and fish returned unharmed. I leave to head to Salisbury and go to Home Depo and stop at another tidal spot near Vienna. First stop around 4:00, fish one spot nothing for 30 minutes head upriver to another spot and wind dies down and tide begins to ebb first fish 9 1/2 inch Yellow perch, my electrician friend who had to work until 3 PM calls and he joins me, second fish 12+ inch fat Yellow perch, he catchs a small white perch on bloods, I catch 3 more 6-8 inch Yellow perch and throw back. Mostly I fished with minnows on a double shad dart on bottom but caught one on night crawler. They were biting soft and we missed several by jerking too quick not letting em swallow the bait. Happy to catch a nice variety of fishes which I have to be reminded of how lucky I am to live in this great state of MD, boardering the Chesapeake Bay and beautiful Eastern Shore. Good luck to all, spring should bring more consistent fishing and catching. Steve
