Gduck and I set out sun. in search of open water the first stop where we really wanted to fish the ramp was iced up and this spot was open last week. Went to ramp #2 this one was ice free. Started fishing water temp. was 38 no bites for 2 hrs then we finally got one that got us started was still slow but we managed 11 very nice crappie 6 bluegiils and 2 bass. They had preference for blue 2 1/2" fin-s fished real slow. Was nice just to get back out fishing,we fished from about 12 to 4:15. Heres a pic. of a nice one 14 3/4" scale was bouncing between 1lb.-15oz. and 2lb. even she was thick. released all this trip.

Way to go. Beautiful fish. I will be glad when this ice is gone so I can try to catch a few.

Nice fish report, much bigger than my normal catches. I was hoping to get out this weekend but had a tooth pulled Friday. I am still not feeling 100%. Deer hunting ending in two weeks and losing interest anyway. Hoping to get out this weekend for crappie or next for sure. Hope my success is similar to yours. Steve

Nice fish! Is that the Wicomico? If so that's where I got my biggest Md Crappie at 17". (didn't weigh it)

Can't wait for J-towne to open up. When it does the crappie and YP should be ready to bite!

Nice job on those fish. Some of the ice melted around here. Unfortunately I have to work this weekend. It looks like it will be freezing back up.
