Went to the Christmas parade this am. it was cold too but what do know we dicided to go crappie fishing afterwards. Gduck,Crappiedude and I hit a tidal river and were rewarded with 36 crappie on the counter, we fished from 1:30 to 4:30 had real high tide which I don't like the best. They seem to hit a little bit of everything we thru at em today but were scattered again hoping they bunch up tight as it gets colder like last winter. Also caught a bunch of bluegills. We released all today. If I had to say 1 hot bait it would be the 2" southern pro triple tail in pink and chart. It was a nice afternoon.

We didnt release them all! I needed some new fish for my aquarium and kept 3 little dinks about 6" or less. I already had a couple local pond crappie for the last month or so, but they just are not comming around, just sit in the corner all the time so i figured some new company would help. Well the 2 ive had still have not come out of there funk but the little river fish are very active. I guess the difference between fish in a tidal moving water river and ones that are in still water all the time??
We really did have a good time and i'm glad my little buddie crappie dude came and toughed out the cold, he hung right in there and I hope he goes more often in the winter with us.
glad you getting out there and shaking that water for them fish every water hole up this way is starting to freeze or they have the level dropped so far you can't get a boat on it .
glad someone is on them though .

I wonder if they will remain active or will they group up with the other fish. I have to ask are they the same size. It seems like smaller fish are very active and the larger fish tend to be on the lazy side.
I think your little buddy crappie dude will keep on fishing through the winter since he already toughed out the cold.
Wind gusts over 30 tomorrow, my only day off this week. I guess I will go fishing, there has to be one spot out of the wind.
