Got home from work at 8am. Finished up some work and then got out on the water by 9. Did some striper fishing but the tide was waaaaaaaay out and we couldn't get bit. Came back in the docks that have been good since the temps started dropping but only hooked into 6 fish with 1 being a keeper. At 11:30 we decided to try another cove where I used to fish but hadn't been since the year before last. Over the next 2 hours we got 42 fish, keeping 11. Biggest is in the 2nd pic...13"
All of the fish came on 2" limetreuse tubes

John - Thanks - you're right about the "fat", they're getting ready for winter here. Take a look at the pic below. After you mentioned it I decided to weigh the 13"er when I was filleting him (or her?). 1lb 6oz! This was after losing water weight while in the fridge overnight. I'll post a few pics of the fillets in a bit.......I think I'll make you hungry......

Thanks - Air temp was about 50. I have 3 different temp gauges on the boat and none match. One on each depth finder and a infared hand held. The temps on the three were between 47.5 and 51.1

Thanks for the quick reply. I'd like to 'attempt' another trip, but where I fish is a higher altitude, therefore the temps are cooler. Temps are forecast to fall a bit in the upcoming week (highs in the 40's upstate NY). Plus rain is in the forecast as well![]()
I'd be going. I fish down here (Md) as long as the water's not "Hard". I've had some great days in 35-38 degree water.

Might not be the "Best" (tasting) way to fix crappie (It is my wife's favorite) but it is probably one of the "best" ways health wise.
