Spur of the minute trip
Wasn't really planning on fishing sat. big boats in the shop and had plans with the wife later but woke up at 5 like a work day so I hooked up the jon boat went to one of our nearby millponds. Got there just before light got fishing just as I could see cught 1 right away about 10" I was trolling then hooked a real good one and couldn't reel the reel right but got it in a nice 14 1/4"" come find out the line was wrapped around the bail twice got lucky I guess! I ended up catching 9 crappie with 2 other good ones at 13 3/4" and 12 1/2" the rest were around 10" to 11" not big numbers but a real nice size. Also caught around 15 yellow perch of which 9 were good size 3 bluegill 2 pickeral. The crappie stopped biting at 8:30 they never seem to bite in this pond when the sun gets up.My little digital scale was in my salt water tackle bag so I didn't get to wiegh the big one but it was real thick released all fish didn't even take a bucket or cooler. Chart twister on a roadrunner head was best today followed by a blue and white southern pro tube. Water temp. 73 depth 6ft.
