P-Line Flourocarbon

i use p-line xxl 4 and 6 lbs test it's got great feel and it's very strong. i use it when i'm bass fishing to but i use 6 and up for the bass. however i've caught some nice 3 and 4 lbs on the 4 lbs test a few times while crappie fishing. it's great stuff i'll never use anything else.

I like Sufix Elite.

Mr Crappie HIGH VIS YELLOW in 8lb or Stren HIGH VIS YELLOW in same pound.

I use suffix elite. It comes in several hi-vis colors and the pound test is severly underrated. 6lb is all you need. I use yellow and the best part is - $7.50 for 330yds. I bought some based on the reviews on Cabelas.com and I will say it does live up to the reputation. Very little memory and great strength.

Slab

I use line from BPS, yellow in color and about $5 and change a big spool. I like it as well as stren and it's lots cheaper. 4 and 6 lb both work real well.

I'm not a big fan of the cajun red to hard to see.

I like Stren high vis gold.

Look for a copolymer line. There are several out there, but head and shoulders copolymers trounce regular monos in every category unless you like lines that stretch. They don't absorb water therefore the line properties don't change when wet. Superb knot strength. Very low stretch nearly at superline levels. They stay strong when scratched and nicked. Very very strong in comparable diameters. They last indefinitely as far as I can tell. I purchased a 1/4 spool of Sufix Promix 4-5 years ago and I'm just getting to the bottom of the spool. The line is still as strong as it was when it was new. The line still amazes me after all these years. The particular brands I recommend are super limp. I started with PLine which I loved until I did some research and found copolymers that were thinner and limper than PLine with all the amazing strength of PLine. I found Pline exhibited about the same coilyness as regular monos, but was way stronger and stretched much less. Those 2 brands are Gamma and Sufix Promix. They are almost the same except for an advantage for each line. Gamma is slightly more limp, in fact its the most limp line I have ever used while still being as strong as the strongest non superlines. Promix has all those qualities and is super inexpensive, about 12 bucks for a 1/4 lb spool at www.bubbajackstackle.com.

There is one more line that I have not tried that interests me primarily because its copolymer and its made in the US. That is McCoy. www.mccoyfishingline.com I think I may test that line this year and order a 1/4 lb spool instead of another spool of Promix. Though I'll order another spool of promix anyways, just because its so cheap and I run into people so often that need new line. I just give it away. I have probably given away 1/3 of my original promix 1/4 spool over the last 4-5 yrs and I may have just one more reels worth left on the spool.

In short - go copolymer - you won't regret it.

Oh one more thing. If high visibility is an issue with you check out the other Sufix copolymers with high vis properties at bubba jacks and also McCoy makes a Fluorescent line too. I wish Gamma made a Fluorescent.
