    Got me a new rod to handle the Enid and Grenada crappie.

    That IS bamboo and absolutely perfect or cut in 6 to 8 foot lengths

    I remember back when the pontoon crews fished with those at Sardis. No reels, just pegs to wrap extra line around, big wrecking ball weights and six or eighth jigs on each pole.
    Some crazy sturdy homemade rod holders, no store bought holders would hold up to that. Pontoon looking like a bamboo thicket.
    Believe the rod limits and two hooks per rod rule changes put them pretty much out of business.
