Default Pulling crappie from deep vs shallow.

Lately I have to fish a little deeper to find them slab. To surprise me they fight a little different. They jump and try to come up just like little bass not just swim to the side. Yes I caught plenty of jumping crappie but not feel like these. One of them I think a 2 lb bass until I saw it huge slab, too bad didn’t land her because I fight her like a bass and pull the hook out. How deep 15-20’ VS 6-10’ as usual. Anyone experienced the same?

First one compared to full size Vanford 2500.

Yes, the 2 biggest I caught this year came up fast from 25' and broke water. I thought they were both smallmouth bass.

Very nice fish!! Once it gets cold I think they go deeper to find their comfort zone.
