Caught a few only had short time period to fish.
Fishing more in South Alabama these days rather than Mississippi. Rojo now your fish will get a bit of a rest.
Didn’t take time to purchase minnows. Probably caught fifty plus fish a lot of shorts but would have been good whole frying fish. Only kept ten. Largest was fourteen and a quarter inches and the rest ranged from eleven inches up to the fourteen. Had one short that swallowed it but legal in AL. had to keep him or feed to gar.
I also put a photo in of a three and a half inch minnow found in the large fish.
Caught them on the river channel tucked in close to a vertical root ball. Black and chartreuse was what they wanted on a blue bird windy day.
Used long pole wasn’t in a spot where I could cast or shoot. Besides the wind was so bad coming down the river it even made long pole hard.
None were hitting hard just see line go limp or slowly lift and feel weight. All and all fun day.

Sounds like a really good day, even with the wind blowing...

The jig bites are super soft right now. The boat wakes on the Pearl river feeding Ross Barnett and the wind that was blowing made feeling a bite even worse. The wind was blowing hard enough to bow your line into thinking you had a lift.

I think you explained how I caught those fish better than I did.
And the Tensaw Delta is much like the lower end of the Pearl River system. Of course I should have been able to find some out the wind. But on this day, I did have a fish in the boat till almost noon.
