    Default River ketchn 101

pitch that jig under a float , about half the water column on the depth setting , get jiggy with it ....
summertime river crappie in these parts want it "flickering", a lame presentation will get lame results , just saying .......
if you play the soft touch , you lose , pop that jig and do it with regularity , don't let it rest much.
It is my thought that the baitfish in rivers stay much more active than the lake versions .
I got bit EVERY cast on my lunch break during a strong wind and pretty fair amount of current in the river all going in the same direction .
that float and jig were moving quite quickly from right to left in the wind and just exactly the same way after it hit the water ..... and if you twitched that jig a good bit , you got bit .....
typical summer stuff here , not real big crappie , just herds of them ....
I got tired / bored with em after about 50 or so and it was hot out there .
I used several different colors for fun and the orange ,blue and white jig seemed to get the best bites and slightly larger crappie to boot .....
as clearly indicated in the fine print ....
individual reults may vary and I wasn't paid to endorse these products either
big spool old Shimano on an old 7 foot HD cherrywood was my choice out of the arsenal in the back seat of my truck .....
about 5 foot deep in 10 foot of water ....moving pretty quickly
and KABOOM is what I do ....sometimes

Well, well, drug a little more info out of you. Great post, different technique but results is the same goal I'm selling too. Helping the Scratch Sac-a-lait Anglers in the rivers is what it's about! I will give your speed float technique a try very soon. Blueberries need picking and the fruit tree's limbs are on the ground with fruit right now. Processing fruit time around here.
