Casting out 7' of line does sound kind of difficult. How long of a rod are you using for that?

People may not agree but there are always some fish in the 10-12 ft range . Depending on water clarity normally 3 ft. down to half the water depth is where I start .

Just remember where the crappie's eyes are. They look up!;):)
