Default BABY ....get the net ....be quick ....

Then somehow with what was a pretty darn lucky situation, up comes a dandy summertime old timer to get an image or 2 with another old timer ,as the storm comes in from the west .....
when I hooked it , I thought pretty heavy , might be a bass , then it began to fight and thought yep bass , then it got to the surface and ......I said ....
BABY ....get the net ....be quick ......
She was pretty quick and then ....in the net it got ....
they were really finicky and the off and on rain was for sure a factor ....
sometimes the sun was beaming and a few minutes later heavy skies and rain .....
some other fish wanted in on the action as well and then ....
it finally, rained and it rained and the wind howled and the last part of the ride home was .....
pounding hail and 20 mph max .....
that typical one hour drive took 2 plus .....
and you for sure was grasping your seat in the truck with your gluteal muscles during that hold my beer and just watch this episode ....
KABOOM was everywhere in the night sky
the crosswinds were difficult to imagine and the rain came down ...as we say in SHEETS !
and then ....IT STOPPED ...right when we took our exit off the highway ......
until I ride again .....hope you enjoy the fishee story
p.s. DO NOT ASK ME WHAT IT WEIGHED or HOW LONG IT WAS EITHER ! HE ,Who actually cares is not me , just saying

Nice Fishes for sure. Those kinda storms are the worst. Have tasted seat cushion the hard way a few times and Thanked the Lord above for getting me through it. Them have a tendency to add a wrinkle or two...Glad you all made through...

That crappie is a slab anywhere in the country, bet you are glad you brought the net for this trip. Pictures certainly tell the story. Nasty ride home, bet there were some prayers mixed in on that drive.

We slid the net under that bass as well , I was using a very light setup that visit , got my line broke 2 or 3 times that visit .
Tied on a beautiful pair of matching jigs at one point. Set my float and pitched the offering.
About halfway back to me something stopped my slow retrieve ……
I thought it was possibly hung on something…..
I raised the rod tip gently and whatever bit didn’t move a bit , then before my mind could kick in and realize it was a fish ….
It left really rather quickly and KABOOM…..lost them jigs

Beautiful Crappie, terrible weather. We don't see hail much so I'm not too inclined to be driving in it. Glad Y'all are all safe.
