    Default Replica mount

Just curious is any members have had a replica mount of crappie done and if so who did you use?

    Good quality?

By chance do any members do replica mounts?

    Thanks in advance!

Check with MR DUX on here. He did mounts but had some unfortunate happenings (tornado, fire, etc.). So I'm not if he still does.

I don't think he does taxidermy anymore, but he would know who would do the best job !! Replica mounts for fish are basically "paint jobs" that are supposed to look like the fish you caught, not just a general rendering of that particular species.

I had both of my fish done at Gunner's, when they were here in Lex. They have moved a couple of times since then and are now located close to Ghent, Ky. (on the Ohio River, between Cincy & Louisville). Mine are skin mounts (Muskie '85 - Bass '91) and still look great. I looked at their website but did not see any mention of them doing "replica" mounts, so I'd call them (859-489-6619) and ask, before you decide on using them over other taxidermy businesses.

I have one replica, it is nice , but the mold was a big black crappie and the fella painting it did almost only big black crappie paint jobs and just couldn’t get it looking quite right on the coloration.
The fish he was trying to duplicate is my avatar and it was a white crappie .
Been over 10 years since I had it done , don’t remember who it was , he was out of Florida.
IF SOMEONE HAD a 19 inch white crappie replica mold , I would love to engage them in conversation about a replica myself….but the 3 different folks I contacted never even responded back to my inquiry …
