Had a great start to crappie season this year at with December and beginning of Jan producing plenty of quality fish in all my usual spots like Dexter, Woodruff and George but than we went through a period of wacky weather of alternating warm and cold fronts. Last week for me the fish completely died off when the temps dipped to 30 so I took a few days off. After a few days of steady warm temp we left the dock this am at dawn and had an hour of impenetrable fog with less than 50’ of visibility.
The sun burned off the fog a bit around 8 just as we put the rods out longlining the northern mouth of Dexter got a few nice ones than bounced around and put together a dinner including a couple of tanks we jigged out of the pads.
