Good report. Nice table of groceries. I agree about courtesy when fishing.

Water temp was down to 69 F and falling as I hit several spots. Never found large groups but did keep trying till I had 14 sacalait ( A couple of tacos swallowed the hook to bad I had to keep them) and 2 small bass. I did land a couple of whites a 14" and a 12". Lost another big one at the boat as well.
River traffic was up and I found most of the boaters did slow down but usually too late. One guy blew by me with 3 other joy riders and then turned around and passed me a second time while I was still recovering from his first wake. Needless to say I strongly suggested that he be more considerate as he passed the second time in less than 3 minutes. His guest stopped smiling and waving when they understood my frustration.
The fish are starting to go deeper and bigger ones are showing up as well.
One other reminder. It's a very long river with so many spots that no one can hit all the spots if they fished all week. SOOO when someone else is fishing and you jump in front of them on the same side of the river less than a football field length from where they ar fishing it's not COOL!
Bon Temps!!

Boat traffic there will always be a problem. Plus side, you have 10 times the productive boat docks. Ross Barnett on the weekend is terrible. The boat wakes travel such great distances you're constantly rocking making good presentation harder to execute.

Weekend boat traffic on Ross Barnett is why I started learning to pull crankbaits this summer. I didn’t quite ration my extra vacation time that I got in April quite right by using a good bit during the spring (aside from what I planned to use during July shutdown, fall break, and other kids’ activities), so it had been mostly weekend fishing for me this summer. With football season, there has been less traffic, which has me wanting to get back to structure jigging some.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.BuckeyeCrappie LIKED above post
Nice catch Bon, I know you hang with Rojo some. So with that said I am sure we are all probably fishing some of the same waters. I turn 65 this year and I recall when you could fish these waters all day even on the weekend and never see a boat. Those days are long gone. Respect on the water went along with those days. But I keep on hoping that by some of these youngsters seeing me slow down and stop producing large wakes maybe they will catch on. Most of us were raised on the water. Most of us never had enough gas money back then to joy ride either. But one true fact remains, because I remember it all too well back in the day of Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston’s growing of the B.A.S.S. Tournament days and tournament fishing in general.
While that became popular most of those guys in the middle of “their” tournament to win that money they rarely ever slacked up. It was see how fast you could get from point “A” to point “B” and cover water. So it’s not just owed by the recreational boaters you see. It’s sometimes what the recreational boaters see others doing.
I recall fishing a river Rojo and I both fish regularly and the first seadoo come in that area. It’s been a nightmare ever since. But we don’t own the water we have to share it. Enough about that!
As for fishing close to spots, that’s another issue in itself. I am still a big marker guy. So yes I may have them spread out in a 100 yard area to work between say brush piles or stumps. But sadly that doesn’t make that 100 yards of water mine anymore and that doesn’t mean the next guy is going to give me that same respect that I give. But all we can do is be examples rather than joining the disrespectful. Keep catching them brother they a lot of water out there.

Keep this in mind while on the water fishing in the rivers and water of this area.
“If money is on the line, they don’t mind” period!
“If they are out for fun, they are going to see how fast it will run”!
“ And finally if you’re on the water for respect, just be ready to hit the deck”! Be careful out there.
Go enjoy fishing, there is plenty of water.
