Well to start with we have 10 pound Redfish eat our shiners while Crappie fishing. That's Ok as I fish with 10# Mr Crappie Camo line on my shiner poles. After a bit the corks & line get contaminated with scum from the water's surface then the line quits slipping. Y'all may do this already but I drill all my corks out with a 1/16 drill bit.

These are Bass Pro Shops Floats but the brand does not matter they all start sticking unless you use smaller line. You can see the float on the left has a much larger hole than the one on the right. Works fantastic.
