Default Step 1 in raising some pet crappie

Step 1 .....you need to .......
    make WATER .....
drilled a well at our place yesterday for a pond I want to build .
in west Texas in most areas ground water isn't far down .
he hit red muddy water at 40 feet ...
he got just regular muddy water at 50 feet ....
and it ran clear and pretty at 20 gallons a minute at 70 feet .....
pretty amazing that there is so much water out there that close to the surface ....
its pretty dry to the dead bones on top out there most years ....
they should be done with the head and pressure tank and wiring soon ....
    stay tuned ....
p.s. he said he loves crappie fishing and goes with a guide every year in the fall
told me that the fella was 3 nails guide service , i said ,Mark retired from guiding a few years ago
he said yes sir I know , I go with one of his buddies now ....
small world we live in ..
    .

You know what I say to my wife when she says “well.” I sarcastically say “ That’s a deep subject for someone with a shallow mind”. I don’t say it often mind you and she and I banter back and forth quite often. I say it in fun and she knows it thank goodness. Your wildlife will be happy iffn you share.

A friend of mine up here calls some of Missouri strip pits "Large Aquariums", due to the diverse fishes they hold...

yes sir , not really a big water body , just a really small one , likely a bit bigger than a goldfish pond , but probably not bunches bigger ......
the sand and other factors out there will keep us from a having much luck with a larger body of water .
the pond will be for wildlife use mainly and of course we will put a few small fish in it as well ....
probably won't fish for them often, if at all ,is my guess .....
probably on some mosquito minnows , and a few sunfish species ....
