Default Back to the west fork

My last few visits to the water on my lunch breaks have been on the clear fork of the trinity river.
Yesterday I decided to give the west fork of the trinity river a go on my lunch break.
The fish there were extra deep and in nowhere near the numbers I encountered at the other fork on the mighty trinity.
But get this part , got me a grand slam by golly , not a bad day , a 1 or 2 of each kinda thing keeps me interested .
without further ado, here is an image of such event.
fish were definitively deep in that less than 7 foot under a float , not a peck.
some laid the float down and some took it down . needed movement for sure as well .
had the same jig from the other day on and the same float.
there was a big cruiser kitty kat I saw go by twice , tried to ketch it for the fun of it ....no dice.
turtles were hard on a fresh fish floating that somebody or something expired ....
think it was a bass , not totally sure.
not sure where to go next , been dodging a boat ride a bit , likely gunna go hit em in it soon on the open water somehwere near ft worth ....
sure was warm in that there shade under that bridge , at 103 and low to no breeze it gets really not fun pretty quickly , unless you are the type that takes showers with your clothes still on ....
one thing for positive certain ......
if you like my posts that's cool and if not that's cool as well , and some folks may not love me and some do ....but ....
my street dog loves me unconditionally and she cannot wait to sit beside my leg and lick my hand , so just keep in mind this about that, in a world of love me and love me not ....
she is for sure the love me winner .....just saying
truly man's best friend for the win

Rivers certainly make things interesting with their variety. One day I caught 13 different species in one morning, you never know for certain what's going to bite next. Some nice one's in the heat. I'll take a pass at 103.

At almost 3 she is that dog , some do things really well depending on the breed , she is a mix of multiple breeds and does about anything a dog can do well .
Straight out of a pack of feral dogs at about 6 weeks old and likely the best dog I ever encountered and to be sure I encountered a bunch over the years ….
She totally understand hand commands and cannot wait to go with you anywhere anytime to do anything
Mid sized as dogs go and can for sure perform way past her size in multiple venues ….
Truly a gift to our family, sweet , caring , and will jump right into a fire for her master (my daughter)
When her protection mode kicks in , she is also bigtime that dog ….

We are dog people too. Can't imagine life without one. Speaking of variety in the rivers I went a bit too far day before yesterday, all that ate my crappie jig was Speckled Trout & Redfish................and the occasional Green Trout aka Marsh Bass. Good post too.

sadly our rat terrier is getting on in years , she is such a sweety , not near as multi functionable as the street dog , but she has been with us 12 years and really does not get that she isn't 2 anymore . poor thing is a fetch dog and will likely meet her maker doing that , she simply cannot wait to fetch and will do it until you get tired of throwing whatever for her to fetch ....when it's hot she will take whatever she is fetching and herself and dunk both in her swimming pool and come back both soaking wet and ready to go again and again ....

Great post showing the picture of your friend loving on you. My black labs have always done this - and with a paw on my arm petting me back. Unbelievable the love I get from them. Such devotion. Here's Ozzy (Y-farms Wonderful Wizard) in my shop with me (paw on arm as always):

My shop is my man cave, cozy out here. He's 18 months in the photo, big boy at 75 pounds now. Here's my boy at eight weeks:

He was born the day Ernie (Y-farms Honest Ernesto) passed. Loved that dog for 14 years, still do. Here Ernie is with Ann:

    Thought I'd share.
