    Default Tm tie down

I want to purchase a secure tie down for my trolling motor. I have seen a few with 50/50 reviews.

    Any suggestions from users?

Velcro strap? I'm assuming you are referring to a bow mounted TM? Description of TM model / make would help or pictures. Most newer models come with a tie down.

Mine is a bow mount motorguide remote. It did not come with a strap. I just want to keep it from deploying in rough water situations.

I'm envisioning some type rubber block with a Velcro strap to go up near the head of that TM^. Sorry, I don't know who may make one.

EDIT: I see RAM mounts makes one for that.

Let us know if it lives up to your needs please. Mine bounces some but the blow is softened by the flex of the shaft. Not sure that in my case it would be better to have it secured to the source of the impact. I’m running a terrova with a 60” shaft.

This is a great option for a mount on the shaft. Takes a base for the gunnel but no drilling and its angle adjustable as well.

Looks like the one you bought is just a strap for a scissor type mount. You could screw it to the deck and then wrap the Velcro around to hold it or send it back and get one that doesn't require drilling. Similar to this:

There's lots of options out there, do a search for trolling motor stabilizer.
