I finally Was on my way to the lake to wet a line this afternoon, when a person cut me off going around me. I hit the brakes a bit harder than I should have and got a very large surprise. I felt a slight bit of steady brake pedal, then No resistance at all as the pedal went straight to the floor.. I quickly threw the tranny in Neutral and pulled the emergency brake and pushed the four ways to warn anyone behind me. Found the shoulder fortunately, and discovered, after a couple hundred deep breaths a few thousand "Thank You LORDS", brake fluid dripping from in front of the left rear wheel.

The culprit, a rusty steel brake line had burst...end of fishing trip right there. Thankfully, I had some light traffic, and secondary roads to get me home. SLOW, slow, slow 20 MPH, four way flashers, and some steady nerves, and extra attention to all my surroundings.

Once again, everything put on hold, as the truck needs a tranny, and moms jeep needs a brake line now. It will be about a week till I can get this working again...AAAAARGH!!!!! Seems to me 2024 isn't starting out worth a hoot!!!
