We just wrapped up another Shindig. I’m tired but also so grateful for Crappie.Com and the impact it has had on me and so many others. Ed works his butt off for this site and puts his heart and soul into it.
I want to thank BillBob for the Herculean effort he put into attending. Having him and CanePole there will stay with me for the rest of my days. It took some logistics to get Ted into my boat but when he asked me if I had a seat for him during a call as he and Slab were driving down, there was no way we weren’t going to make that happen. 15 mph winds made the 4 hour trip around Blood River interesting and uncomfortable but he brought plenty of winter clothes and made it fine. Fishing was tough and Ed wanted a photo fish that I was concerned wouldn’t show. As I was making our way back toward Lynnhurst, the big crappie hit a Pico crank and Buckeye did a great job getting it to the net.
I want to thank all who brought food and give-aways. CanePole, Crappie.com, Pico Lures, Cornfield Fishing Gear, Off Shore Tackle, Lynnhurst Family Resort, others I can’t think of now. Jere did his usual amazing job with the skillet taters and cobblers.
To Adam, Scott and BJ from Ky Fish and Wildlife, thanks for attending and answering every question and complaint.
Lastly, I want to thank Mark Ridl of Cornfield Fishing Gear for his speech. He told how Crappie.com events and members were the inspiration for him to start his company then make the move to Ky Lake. He and Paula are great examples of how hard work and dedication when things are tough can lead to wonderful things.
Lastly to Ed and his friendship and for having a vision that has brought so many folks together as friends.
