Traps Set tonight, maybe catch Sylvester again.
Well I caught a cat, my wife's cat :yikes. To keep myself out of hot water I picked the trap back up this morning till we actually see a wild cat in the yard.
:Rofl Oops
Good thing cats can’t talk!

I almost didn't get a picture of the dumbest possum I have caught yet.
There was no bait in the trap. Critters & Feral Cats have been in the yard since we got hit by the tornado.
This is a first. The Trap lost the battle to what I can only guess was a Monster Coon. The opposite end of the trap door wire is bent in from the coon pulling on it. The trap door is loose, slightly bent, just overall stressed.

Like usual with a coon they pull anything they can grip thru the wire. Here the trap was under my wife's bird feeders, a thick mat of Black Oil Sunflower shells has been piled up on the aluminum where the trap was sitting. I didn't put the concrete blocks on top for some reason so the coon was able to pull itself over to the edge where it could start digging.

It must have gotten a front leg around enough to pull on the door stop allowing room to escape. I bet that coon never goes in one of these traps again. .22Short time.

I got to clean the trap out now, tighten all the bend parts, and get it overall ready to go back on the hunt tonight. This trap is 20 years old. Service has been on and off but this was the first Escape ever here.
I have had the same thing happen. The cage was about 50 yards from it’s original position and had coon fur and blood all over it.
I had one in the yard a few nights ago, very large one, my dog was giving it grief but at a distance. I set the trap night before last and caught this critter.

I set the trap last night, really set the trigger tight so I think the door may have been bumped enough to trip the trap before a critter went inside. So I will set it again tonight. Time to clean out the unwanted guests again.
Now that you have a larger buffet for them they will be visiting regularly. They have already spread word to all the critters. :Rofl
