I think it's more fun to fish with somebody else, that way you can brag and joke when you catch a big fish and they don't... LOL
I fish with my bride mostly but I do like fishing with friends also. Nothing like some good conversation to pass the time.
I have always considered fishing a solitary activity, especially as I fish a stream 99% of the time. It just lends itself to bank and wade fishing. If I had a boat and lake it would be different. I like the quiet and solitude, no music or anything like that. Just nature.

I definitely like to fish alone . I do miss some of my friends, especially the guy in Idaho that I fished with quite a bit. Neither one of us had a boat, so we just fished off the dock together. I sure do miss him.
I tend towards introversion, so I have no problem fishing alone and actually prefer it a lot of the time. That said, I do have partners that I enjoy fishing with (a couple of my brothers, one of my sons, my wife, a good buddy or two, etc.). I'd much rather fish than sit at home on a nice day though, so not having a partner definitely won't slow me down any. I'm going out for Crappie today with a guy who approached me and asked me to teach him to find and catch them. He's a nice guy, non-abrasive, etc., so I don't mind fishing with him either.
I am content either way

This sounds like a George Thorogood song. Wait, that's drink alone. My bad.
