black bears kinda spook me , they are much more likely to try to eat you than a brown bear and I have been stalked by a huge boar up in Alaska back when , they tend to keep it quiet when one whacks a human so as not to scare off the tourist population.
the day after that bear made me leave like I was on fire , I read about a mauling in the parking lot I parked in not long after I left.
careful with them for sure , as stated they are fast as a rabbit and super strong critters , even a small one is bad news in a spot where they have lost their natural fear of humans
