Unused Lures

Just curious how many of you might have lures in your tackle box(es) that you have never used. I have been cleaning up and reorganizing my tackle box in hopes of getting out sometime real soon. I noticed that I had lures that have never been used at all. Lures that I bought on a whim when I was shopping for other tackle just because I liked the looks of them at the time. Then, for whatever reason, I never tried them.

I think many of us tend to most often fish the lures that we have had the most success with and are most confident in. But I never paid attention to the fact that I had tackle box queens that just occupy space in there.

My inventory is no where near as much as many of you. Are there any others like me that have this same problem? Or maybe you don't consider it a problem. Inquiring minds want to know.

I have a few clearance bin bags of plastics that have never been used or only a time or so.

I had a big pile of baits before I even started pouring plastics. It was hard to pass up a packs of Bobby Garland/Wally Marshall clearance baits for .75 a pack.

I hear what you're saying about soft plastics but they are kind of disposable/consumable anyway. The ones you haven't used yet stay in the bag until their turn comes. I am thinking more along the lines of hard lures like plugs and spinners and spoons.

In fact other than the many hard and soft lures I own - many never used - I have many soft plastic molds I'll probably never use again not to mention the many lures I've made. Too bad there's no thrift store to sell fishing stuff other than Ebay, though I'd probably replace them with more stuff I can't use. Of course it's not just lures: a slew of rods and reels, boating equipment such as trolling motors, a 15' Gruman canoe and 12' jon boat, anchors, paddles, oars and many spools of mono and flurocarbon (only use braid). The list goes on, but you get the picture.
Again, I WIN!

Being I do a bunch of Walleye fishing my crankbaits are in the hundreds plus. When Berkley first came out with there Flicker Shads they out fished the Rapala Shad Raps 3-1. They would go on sale for $1.49 a piece versus $4-$5 a piece for the Rapalas. Needless to say I could stock a baitshop, consider it an investment looking at the prices now.
