Went west to our place to scout some land auction properties , ran thru several summertime squalls. Hit the home place in the country before dark and fired up some wood to cook dinner.
Ate dinner at sunset and woke to see 16 hogs in the pasture, a few deer went to and fro and after we did the rest of the land scouting, we hit the less than dusty trail.
Decided we would dip some worms for some sunfish at my friends place on the way back and got there to find the crappie "Still in the way" !
then as ole girl mother nature would have it a pouring rain with thunder and lightning cut us off short of a real beat down on the fish and ran us off to home.
mind you this , we was less than serious about most of it other than the land scouting , auction is 1:30 tomorrow on the courthouse steps out in the country.
Saw 2 spots we might bid on, minimum bids are in place and both would be a steal at those prices , we shall see what we shall see ....
crappie were high in the water column as were the few bream we managed to ketch and the water has come up a little bit since my last visit . most bites were very subtle.
last fish as it started to really rain was a bluegill and if you did not see the sunset the night before ,it is hard to describe its splendor and or capture it in an image , yes the grilled chicken tacos were stupid good btw .....
hope you enjoy the images
p.s. AND the ole mower at the ranch quit before I did ...![]()
