SlabSauce sprayed on plastics in tackle box?

I am setting up my plastics in plastic box with divided separators. I read that mineral oil is good to add in order to keep the plastics supple and in good condition.

Question -
Would it be a good idea to spray SlabSauce over the plastics rather than mineral oil?

I think in your tackle box I would use mineral oil, if in ziploc bag or something air tight I would use slab sauce. If slab sauce dries out it can be messy and a little hard to clean up.

I've got "plastics" that are likely over 40yrs old, in tackle box trays all that time, that are still just as good as when purchased. But, they've also been holed up in those tackle boxes in my closet ... so no chance of getting overheated (& melt together).

I still have "newer" plastics that are in tackle box trays, straight out of their original packaging (& some still in them), and have not seen any need to "condition" them with any fluids and/or scented liquids.

I doubt it would hurt anything, though .... but I'll let the members, that HAVE used it in that way, expound on their results.

I used to spray Bang scent into bags of Culprit Red Shad worms and let them sit in the dash of the truck for a afternoon. They would bleed a red oil on your fingers when you would put them on a hook. The bass sure worked them over

Not an expert in this by any means but I have found for me that I just leave my plastics in the package they come in and spray slab sauce on them to keep them lubricated. The ziploc package does well with keeping them air tight. I get a bigger freezer bag ziploc to further organize within my tackle bag. I did consider the mineral oil idea but for me I would rather them be swimming in slab sauce ready to go.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll probably mist them with mineral oil. Save the SlabSauce for fishing.

Just splurged and bought a Plano EDGE Professional Series (Thin) Tackle Storage. They are really nice, but expensive!

Yeah, I would not spray it anywhere with extended open air contact. It's great stuff, but it's sticky and messy, especially after it sits for a while in the open air. Sticky, stinky, but it sure helps ketch the feesh! Slabsauce rocks.

some spray scents will discolor and or harden soft plastics if they are in them a long period of time .
nothing goes in or on mine until it is time to use them .
