It has been very windy for three days, but today was calm. Hopped in the old truck for the one minute drive to the launch. Looked for the three steers on our permanent pasture. Saw them lying down in the shade; should have been a sign. The dog and I took the short boat ride to a spot that has given hundreds of crappie already this year including 30 just the other night. The water temperature is 65*,but the water isn't clear like it was, 1.5ft of visibility now compared to 7 feet the other day. I started working for them, and it was not happening! I missed a very few half hearted little takes and finally caught one that must have been literally laying on bottom just like the cattle. I moved to another proven area and picked up two more. One big female with eggs leaking out and a small female already spawned. I am sure I will have more easy days, but that was really a major slow day.
