The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
The sandbass here typically spawn a few weeks before the crappie. The great thing is the hybrids join the sandbass right around the time the crappie spawn goes into full spawn mode. You have not had fun until you battle a 6lb hybrid on crappie tackle. I caught my PB of 8.8 while fishing for sandbass. I was a blast.
I’d like to get into some hybrids with sand bass. I have caught a 16 pound hybrid. Accident on a spoonbill snagging rod so not a good battle. I decorated it one year with an elf riding it with golden sleigh bells. Liked it so much I’ve never taken it down.

The record here was 17 lbs at the time, late 1990’s not sure now. I tried to release it but it wasn’t going to live.
