I’m looking for a rod for fishing minnows. The way we fish, we are making short casts with a bobber to submerged cover. The cover is typically 6-12ft deep. We keep the boat away from the top of it and watch it on Livescope. We use a bobber stopper to control the depth.

I’ve tried different rods, and haven’t found one the bobber stopper will go through the guides of without hanging. The eyes are just too small. (I’ve tried several different brands/shapes/sizes of bobber stoppers.

Anyone have a recommendation for a rod that will work well? I don’t want to use long rods. I take my kids and those long poles are just too much for them to handle.

I have a buddy who makes custom rods and I’m open to having him build something if I can’t find anything.
