    there was time a pro told me I was way to fast on the hooksets when we went crappie ketchn , of course that was 10 years ago and it seems as of lately my hooksets ain't quite what they used to be speed wise ....

    I think when he sets the hook, he's tryin to get half the kleening done right then...lol...

    So if a crappie is foul hooked in a tournament does it still count? I fish for the challenge & table fair.

    In most instances, no .... it would not count & would have to be released at once. Rules usually dictate that the fish has to be "hooked" IN the mouth, so as to eliminate any chance of the angler "snagging" the fish (on purpose).

    Slabsauce will make them hang onto it longer so you can hook them in the mouth
