there was time a pro told me I was way to fast on the hooksets when we went crappie ketchn , of course that was 10 years ago and it seems as of lately my hooksets ain't quite what they used to be speed wise ....

In most instances, no .... it would not count & would have to be released at once. Rules usually dictate that the fish has to be "hooked" IN the mouth, so as to eliminate any chance of the angler "snagging" the fish (on purpose).

at that spot we ketch quite a few right under the chin , suppose they are just pecking or maybe grabbing the head of the jig
