Experienced the "doldrums"? I have heard the term before and may have experienced them, but don't remember so. Until last Thursday. Three of us fishing on a favorite lake, high skies, just a hint of a breeze now and then and temps around 85-90 deg. On at 6 am, off at 10:30 am. Caught a few slabs just about every spot, the anchor rope slack pretty much all day. Remember asking my buddy what time is it a few times and his answer each time was between an hour to an hour and half earlier than it felt. The next day, my other buddy texted me saying we had experienced this phenomenon called the doldrums....."how we seemed to go into a time warp. This was experienced by early mariners on their way to the New World, when they were becalmed in the Sea of Saragrasso for days, and time seemed to stand still".
