Some of you know, I get bored easy, and am always trying different things. So here’s a two-for.

Jigging-Trolling, or in other words, jigging while trolling.

So this morning, I’m not catching fish, but I see them, and tons of baitfish on the fish finder. Name: IMG_0810.jpg

So nothing going on, I get bored, I decide to grab one of the rods and knock the fish I see in the head. Here I go, trolling along at about one mph, bouncing the jigs up and down, and when I see a fish coming up on the livescope I’ll drop it to them or pick it up to them. I obviously have my livescope pointing back behind the boat towards my jigs and can see what’s coming up towards them. It’s cool. And low and behold I’m finally catching fish.

I even see a bump on the bottom and drop my bait down, and smack. A big brown bullhead hit it. Fought like heck.

Here’s the two-for. I also tried something else a little different. I use cut sponge on scope-eye jigs. The scope eyes are by PICO and show up real nice on the live scope. They’re designed to do just that.

The sponge is to soak up slabsauce. And it works. It even works after it gets torn up a bit and you just glob it on the hook awkwardly. You may remember a recent post of mine on the FL forum where I had a real torn up bait that looked like a glob. Here it is.

And I caught fish on it as long as it was soaked in sauce.

Here’s the double sponge bob rig using scope eyes
