I had to remove the tiny skeg from my motor guide to attach the gt56 transducer. I was only able to do this because of the Bullnose clamp on rudder. The first time I used it I noticed the improved responsiveness. The boat was much easier to steer and easy to manage. I especially notice how much easier to manage the boat in high wind conditions "15-20mph with gusts to 30mph". The rudder is well made and it's tough. Well worth what I paid for it.
