    Default fishing line

Does anyone like Berkley Trilene Big Game? And, what about Suffix Elite? I found 3000 yards of suffix hi-vis for 29.99. I didn't think that was too bad. I normally spool Vicious Hi-Vis...as usual they are presently out of stock. thanks.

I don't really like buying mono in huge quantities, I've found that it degrades even when stored below deck. By degrade, I mean that it becomes dull instead of glossy, and knot strength goes way down. A lot of times I can get down to better line by stripped some off, but it's a hassle I prefer not to deal with.

Trilene is great line. I also like Crappie Maxx and Mr. Crappie.

I use a good bit of the hi-vis Suffix Elite in 4 and 6lb and have had really good results. It's good line, imo..

Big Game usually test heavy ie 10 lb test is the size of most others 12 lb. But it is fine line, as is Elite.

I store large spools in the fridge. No light and No heat, both of which break down mono.

It also depends what you'll be using it for. I wouldn't use Big Game for casting light jigs. A lot of the bass/saltwater guys use it because it's tough.

Probably be fine for trolling, but it's not a finesse line.

I use the suffix elite 8# test. It performs better for me and I really just like mono for crappie and bream.
