Default New Homemade 14ft Stake Pole

Had a need to be able to stake out over a ledge especially in the marsh to fish deep holes. This is a broken graphite push pole I had in the shop. I turned down a 1-1/4in piece of anodized SCH40 pipe, TIG welded a "Foot" to it so if needed I could pole over shallow spots in the upper river areas and access deep holes other guys can't access. The Foot is epoxied into the 14ft pole and has worked well beyond my expectations. It bungees on the Starboard side with the 8ft Yak stake pole. I personally like the stake poles over spotloc in some instances for stealth. Staking the pole on a angle really allows me to sit right over a hole ultra quite. If you can't see the foot you my need to hit the arrow on the right side of the ad. When I previewed this post the foot is blocked by the ad. Ads pay for bandwidth and are needed to generate business so just click the arrow to see foot.

Wish I had one laying around, that’s a good idea.

I use a stake out pole a lot during the spring when crappie are on the bank or fishing bream beds in May and June. Mine is just and 8’ pole leftover from my kayak fishing days.

Need to see picture when in use. I built something very similar but mine is not working as planned when I am deeper than 10'.

10-4, next time in use I will get a shot with my Humminbird in the picture too. Helps to see the water depth.
