I don’t think so. I fished side by side with those guys at the big tournament at Sardis this year. We weighed or biggest 7 when we got home, and we would have spanked their butts on Saturday. It was kinda goofy looking to be honest , watching a screen like a video game.
If all it took was a few $1000 in electronics to start winning $1000’s in tournaments, everyone would do it. It takes more than that.
I used to think the same thing about trolling and pole limits, I was wrong.
I don’t have LS yet and don’t know if I want it or not.

The way I see it is like this. When I was younger fishing with my dad all we had was a john boat with a small motor. He would sit in the front of the boat and paddle everywhere we went. Of course we caught fish and a lot of them but when TM's came out he bought one. Not that it made him a better fisherman it just made it easier. And then he bought a bigger boat with livewells, bigger motor and a steering wheel. None of that made him a better fisherman. And if he was still alive today I know he would buy a fish finder also. If we just wanted to fish we could do that with a stick, hook and some line while sitting on a bank somewhere.
You aren't hearing anything negative from the guys who have it..... Just the guys that don't.... Just sayin

I’ve got it. I don’t use it 100% of the time. I bought mine for tournament use. Just like anything else, it’s not for everyone. There is a learning curve to it.
I don’t see that piece of electronics hurting the fish population. It is just a choice of whether a person wants it or not.

Interesting statement. How did it "ruin" tournament fishing? Seems to me it changed tournament fishing from using multiple poles and trolling to single pole and casting to the fish. Seems like an improvement to me.Quote:

I've done both and will again but single pole fishing and feeling the bite is just more fun for me.
