    Default To the other side.

Today I went to the other side of the lake, we were not allowed to fish at all for almost 60 days and then it was opened up a little, bank fishing allowed, and one person hand launched paddle powered boats. So I have been doing that on my side of the lake, mainly tule lined sandy bottom spawning habitat with good numbers of fish spawning in 5 feet of water. Rules allow recreation within a ten mile radius of home, so I went to the other side of the lake today. I fished hard for the first hour and hadn't caught a fish. I finally figured some things out and was able to catch 24 crappie. They are spawning in 11ft of water around wood pilings and would not chase the jig. I had to drop to 1/64 oz. heads and really be on the ball as far as visualizing the jig. Attachment 373613Attachment 373614Attachment 373615Name: 20200427_104453.jpg

Very nicely done! We're still locked down here. All public boat launches are gated closed. Funny part is, we fishermen have paid for these launches. No scientific basis for doing this. JMO.

Same way here, state ramps closed, supposedly to open on may 1. COE ramps open, county - city - private up to them. From work, I can see part of the parking lot for our city lake boat ramp. This ramp has stayed open. Ive seen more empty trailers, since this started, than I can ever recall. Even on tournament night, or holidays .
On a good note, I've also seen more families in the park, than before.
    Drinkin coffee, missin fish.
