there are several different brands of adjustable handle nets out there and any of them would be a good choice. You can collapse them to carry around and extend them, some up to 12 feet, to reach down those steep banks

I have never used a net before other than trout. Is there a nice net that would be good for fishing from the bank? Sometimes I fish some places that are steep and it makes it tough to get down and lip a fish. I would be better off with a net. But I have never bought one. I don't know what is a good size? Is it okay to get one with a retractable handle?

Frabill makes a folding expandable net that I really like. The net folds so it stores really easy. Picked up when gander Mtn was going out of business for cheap.

Here is review of one out of Japan. It is 10 feet long. If you look around these type of nets are available off the net.

I might mention its almost more fun to have one break off when you lift them up the steep bank .

Ketchn,
Yeah I agree except when it's a PB fish. In all honesty I have been using more 2lb line and that is the main reason.
