Dragging chains help

The behavior of tournament fishermen on lakes happens to be a pet peeve of mine.

Not trying to start a flame ware but it does not appear to me that you hate the way the chains tear up the structure very much if you are willing to use them when you are in the tournament mode. Perhaps you should consider an alternative to chains when fishing your tournaments since you acknowledge that the use of chains can damage structure, structure that usually somebody else has placed in the lake.

I put tons of structure out,way more than most.Believe me when i say i hate that it can tear up structure.Lot of stuff can tear up structure besides chains.On my home lake high current areas and even ice can pull up shallow driven steaks.90% of fishermen font even put strycture out,and if they do its very little.When useing chains i also use my bird 360 and try not to get into structure when possible.When theres 15-20mph wind and you already paid to fish a tourn. the chains are the only way to go.Me personally dont care how anyone fishes as long as its legal,none of my business.

I certainly do not have the experience and knowledge of many of the good folks on this site but their are many different lakes in this world. Making a blanket statement about chains harming structures that fishermen have built and put out might be true for most lakes but not all. I am not certain but I believe the good Lord is the only one who has put structure in Reelfoot Lake and I don’t believe dragging chains there are going to damage those long-standing cypress stumps. For the record I don’t make a practice of dragging chains at other lakes as I also have drift socks which get hung up frequently on the stumps at Reelfoot.

I have 2 Drift Control 60” for my RT188c. Like most everything I buy they came from Grizzly Jig. If you think you can get by with the 48” model buy the 60”! The front of my boat has a lot less bounce if the trolling motor is having to work.
