I have threaded, old boat were not threaded. I see no benefit either way.
The threaded pins are much safer when using a double-seat set up like Side Kick or Dub-l-seat with folks not used to using them like clients. I had a friend spin a seat around quickly in one a few years ago and the center post popped out of the rear-deck floor and deposited him in the lower floor. We all laughed about it after we made sure he was OK but it scared the crap out of me.

I love having my mounts in the floor . Wish all three on bow were threaded but my latest boat just straight pin . Nothing in the way just drop in one seat to two on the go .

Just stay away from those cheap sure lock or whatever there called. I bought a boat with them in it and it was a good thing I was stripping the boat completely down and redoing it my way because the post would not come out. Also had a buddy bring over his mounts after he took them out of his boat for the same reason. I had to beat the bushings out along with the seat post. Nothing was salvageable in either case. Just my experience with those. Ebay has some really heavy duty aluminum seat base mounts with a textured looking top. The bushings are good in them and they have them in round or square. They are 25 bucks each and worth every penny.
