Hello everyone.... it's with great sadness that I share the news that a faithful follower of this site has passed away prematurely. Ray Cornish was my crappie partner for over a decade. He died at 48 years old of a heart attack while sitting at his desk at Midway College. He was feeling perfectly fine the day before when he and I teamed up to butcher a couple of deer. It's a great reminder to us all that you never know when you have caught your last crappie.

He grew up in Mercer County and worked in IT most of his life. He'd fished all of his life. It wasn't until I took him to Barkley in the winter of 2008, however, that he found his real fishing passion. Ironically, I kind of put it on him that first trip (35 to 2). He vowed that would happen for long and it didn't. As you can see from the picture, he learned pretty quick how to hold his own. lol

Now, I guess I start over. Do you now hard it is to find and train a good fishing partner? I am going to miss him.

BTW... his wife has tasked me to sell his boat, a 2015 Tracker Pro Team TF with all the bells and whistles added. It is absolutely the perfect fishing boat and could hit the water in time for the next crappie tournament. Here's the link:
