Treble hook?

What you see here, and what has been most productive for me, is the Arkie #350 in #87 color. The hook is the VMC 1/0 Inline single hook. I also leave the split ring on the front hook hanger for the "clicking" sound it makes. Not sure it is a plus or not, but it hasn't hurt my catch rate. Hook up ratio is as good as with any single hook jig I've ever used. The hook is not at all too big.

I go a step further and crimp down the barb. Barbs, in my opinion, are not needed unless you are catching for the pot. I'm strictly a CRP fisherman, so I like being able to release a fish unharmed. This modification has certainly increased my enjoyment out on the water. :)

How small do you need?

I've got Owner single replacement hooks down to size 10 for crankbaits and can get size 12. I have size 12 for mini-spoons.

Thanks I already look up Owner single replacement hook along with equivalent chart. Most of my lure use size 10 treble hook which owner recommended size 6 hook, but I’m going to order size 2, 4 and 6 and play with it.

I have a ton of the Rebel lures I would like to convert to single hook. Would anyone know the hook size of the Rebel lures, such as the Cricket, Crawfish, etc? It sure would be nice to get rid of those trebles.

A quick and easy fix is to cut off two of the three barbs with wire cutters. I've done that with all of my spinners (Mepps, Blue Fox, etc.) They still catch fish.

i can see a few problems regarding cut off regular treble hooks. First of all most treble hook on mini crank bait is small (size 10) removing two barbs and the hook would get even smaller, the hook up ratio might decrease dramatically (recommended single hook replacement usually longer and wider gap). Secondly if the lures are those suspended or slow sink type (most of mine) removing 2 out of three barbs, means removing weight which might impact on running depth.

Im still researching since most US market replacement hook are made from thicker wire unlike JDM hook. I like light wire hook so I can get bigger hook without changing much weight of the lures. I also plan to replace my floating lures with heavier hook to make it sink or suspended in hope to get deeper running depth but without interfering action of the lure.

I think too much lol.

Someone used to make a little stick on cut to size weighted tape to adjust suspending lures. That would allow one to add back any weight lost to replacing hooks
