Pond/Quarry scenario

This body of water is about 6 acres. Water is from 6ft to 12ft with gradual drops. Not much structure. Here's what I'm wondering. Would you expect the crappie to school or be scattered lone wolves?

Both. Crappie in small ponds are different animals than big lakes. They will also overpopulate if not removed on a regular basis. Not my opinion but that of a pond manager/biologist type guy that posted here a few years back. I do think that they will mostly orient themselves at close to the same depth. 8 acres isn’t much if you pay attention. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Depends on the time of year in a quarry I fish I usually find them scattered pre spawn then schooled up on a ledge or brushpile in early summer then by late summer they are scattered

If the scenario is as mentioned and there is a lack of cover I would expect any cover at any depth is likely to hold a ton of them .....not kidding

That was my thought also Ketchn. Sort of like a town with only 1 saloon. That's where everybody hangs out. Never fished a place quite like this before so it got me think'in about it.
