My hookset is done from the wrist and stops when there is just a little resistance. The hooks we use are fine and very sharp and crappie mouths are tender so it doesn’t take much to get it done and I miss very few. Tearing loose during the fight from too much pressure is more my problem when I try to direct them away from stuff.

I’m an eye crosser. Very rarely do I hook a fish in the lip. Got myself a toothpick hook remover so I can get the hook out of their roof of their mouth easier. As SK says, BAM.

I don't care how the are hooked and long as I get in the boat, but I stick 'em.

AND its only fun if I can bend my rod double and hear my drag give a little when I drive it in em …..
and as my buds will tell ya even double good fun if my feet get some air under em at the same time .....rotfl

Yep I'm with Chaunc, gotta drop that hammer on them!lol...I would probably have a real hard time changing my hookset at this point even if I wanted to,its pretty much become a reaction when I feel them. They seemed hooked up pretty good and Im not losing many so I don't see any issues with the firm hookset.

Wrist snap and constant pressure for me. Works just fine.
