The front and rear brackets have a lever at the top and rubber sleeve inside to lock the pole in place after you stick the pole in the bottom of the lake. Keeps the boat from bobbing up and down also.
Friend of mine installed power poles on his 1860 g 3 and he had to wire them to a disconnect switch at the battery as they do draw amps while shut off. He doesn’t leave the on board charger plugged in sometimes and found this out the hard way with a dead battery once. Just a FYI you might check on.
