Quick Pitch and Catch

The panfish in this little lake have not been harassed by me since the Spring, and were long overdue for a proper sore lipping!!

Pepaw was not needed for Princess bath time so I slipped off and jacked a few jaws while the grand babies were occupied.

I do not know what this stuff is as it does not grow down in East Tennessee in my neck of the woods. I did not slip the boat in, just went Ketchn style, pitching jigs from the bank. It didn’t take long to hook up, the fish were just out beyond the pad/weed lines.

I wish I could bring the 7’ St Croix UL with the Nanofil, but it does not travel well as a 1pc rod. I am getting a JDM rod soon, this lake would be perfect for such a fine weapon. Instead I brought a 2pc BPS Microlight rod with the 4lb fluorocarbon line. This is the third chance for the clear stiff thread and it actually behaved and did its job with little fuss at all. Crappie were soft lipping my Trout Magnet offering but I managed to stick a few.



One of those stunted Green Carp even enjoyed my offerings.

Slab Sauce was used, and of course these VA fish ate it up.

Took the jig deep with the Sauce.

After about 30 minutes I glanced back at the house and noticed the bathroom lights were off so it was back up to the house for good night hugs and kisses. Quick pitch and catch, mission accomplished.
